For our spring campaign, we wanted to find a city that captures the energy and originality of our newest collection. We didn’t have to look farther than the location of our 41st store: New Orleans—home of Creole comfort food, Mardi Gras, and UNTUCKit ambassador Drew Brees. But the trip wasn’t all jambalaya and hurricanes. There plenty of hard work and unexpected twists.
As we started the day, we realized it was unseasonably cold—in the mid-30s—so we made a mad dash to buy gloves, coffee—and lots of blankets.
Our models also found dancing a fun—and effective—way to stay warm.
The whole team powered through the cold with the help of gloves, blankets, and lots of coffee. Perhaps the toughest shot of the day was Marion in our performance polo and shorts. Don't let his smile fool you—he's freezing.
Next, we moved to the city’s famed French Quarter. The temptation to stop for a crepe and a cocktail was strong, but we had to hold out for a few more hours.
There, our women’s model Alison spotted an adorable dog in between shots. The owner was kind enough to let take some shots with his well-behaved pet.
To give us a true sense of Southern hospitality, the owner also invited us up to her balcony to continue our shoot.
Our second model, Melina, spotted a group of gorgeous Afghan hounds. Their owner was also happy to let them into the spotlight.
They turned out to be models in their own right, and couldn’t resist putting them into the catalog.
Toward the end of the day, we went to snap a picture near a gated door adorned with signature yellow, green, and purple beads. As we began to shoot, a very kind local asked if we wanted to shoot with some of his giant beads. They were the perfect prop to capture the fun, spontaneous feeling of the Big Easy.
